Message from the Representative Director

Recent years have seen rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI), bringing profound changes to the practice of medicine. At the same time, the safe and sustainable deployment of clinical AI systems demands a robust support structure grounded in both technical expertise and an intimate understanding of real-world healthcare settings. The Organization for Clinical AI Research and Development (OCAIRD) was established to meet precisely these needs. Our mission is to contribute to patient safety and the improvement of healthcare quality through the practical implementation, operational support, and technical consulting of clinical AI systems. As a non-profit general incorporated association, we operate on the fundamental principle of serving the public good rather than pursuing commercial interests. By deepening collaboration with hospitals, research institutions, and industry partners, we are committed to fostering a sound and trustworthy medical AI ecosystem in Japan. Activities

Technical Adjustment, Development & Maintenance

We perform technical adjustments, iterative development, and ongoing maintenance to bring clinical AI systems into practical use. Our support extends throughout the system lifecycle to ensure stable, long-term operation.

Collaborative Research & Technology Development

We partner with hospitals, research institutions, and companies to conduct joint research and provide technical development support for clinical AI systems.

In-Hospital Implementation, Operations & Consulting

We provide comprehensive support for in-hospital AI deployment, including system integration, operational framework design, and technology consulting.

Other Public-Interest Activities

We pursue a broad range of additional activities necessary to achieve public-interest goals related to or ancillary to the above.
